Warner Brothers will have the Penguin as one of the villains in the new Batman movie. They might even have up to 4 villains (Catwoman, Riddler, Falcone and Penguin) if you count Catwoman as a villian. Four will be tough. There won’t be enough screen time for each one of them. Colin Farrell will play the Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot) in the new Batman movie.
Danny DeVito played the Penguin in the Batman Returns (1992 movie) directed by Tim Burton with Michael Keaton as Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. Batman Returns made $266.8 million worldwide with $80 million budget. It took 4 and half hours to put makeup on DeVito for the part of the Penguin.
The Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot) is one of the main villains of Batman. He is a mastermind criminal who used weaponized umbrellas. He first appeared in Detective Comics #58 (December 1941) created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Unfortunately he is not on the cover.
The Penguin was also portrayed by Burgess Meredith in 1960’s TV show Batman and Robin Lord Taylor in the FOX TV show Gotham.
