Secret Wars

Russo Brothers who directed Avengers: Infinity War and the sequel said they are done doing superheroes movie unless it is Secret Wars. This was 12- issues 1984 Marvel comic book with many cross-overs.

Mattel, toy company, had a license to make Marvel toys but they wanted a story line where all the characters have interaction with each other. Therefore, Marvel came up with an idea of Secret Wars where they pitted the heroes and villains together. The heroes (X-Men, Avengers, Spider-man, Hulk, etc) fighting against the villains (Dr. Doom, Wrecking Crew, Doctor Octopus, Enchantress etc).

It is going to be a long time if we do see a Secret Wars movie. Disney closed the deal on buying Fox movie rights so we can can definitely see X-Men and Fantastic Four in Secret Wars

In an interview in July 2020 with the Russo brothers:

Joe said “You know, I read that when I was 10 or 11, and it was the scale of getting all of the heroes together. It was one of the first major books to do that — that was really event-storytelling to me at its finest, and what happens when you put all of those personalities together. I also like the idea of villains having to team up with heroes.”

“Ant and I like complicated relationships between heroes and villains, we like villains who believe they’re heroes in their own stories, so it’s all sort of built into this notion of Secret Wars. To execute something on the scale of Infinity War was directly related to the dream of Secret Wars, which is even larger in scale.”

Anthony commented: “It would be the biggest movie you could possibly imagine, so that’s what really excites us about the story — the ambition of it is even bigger than the ambition of the Infinity Saga.”

A  copy of Secret Wars 1 CGC 9.8 sold for $103.75 on November 12, 2018.  In July 20, 2020, a copy of Secret Wars 1 CGC 9.8 sold for $250. This might be the book to look for now if you can get it cheap.  Couple days later, 3 copies sold on July 24, the prices of those books were $333.00 plus shipping, $290 plus shipping and $300 plus shipping.
